Melissa Contreras' (aka Axel Honey) paintings are very girly and beautiful. She received her BA in Fine Art from UCLA and made a living as a graphic designer before pursuing her dream..painting.

Jimbot

James (Jimbot) Demski Jr. works full-time as a T-Shirt designer, as well as a freelance artist/illustrator. His work is fun and full of crazy characters!

Fleet

Adrian Fleet creates these quite interesting characters that make for a wonderful illustration.

Skirball

Today i got a chance to go to the SkirBall Museum in LA. There were a lot of different exhibits but the two I liked the best were the Noah's Ark and ZAP! POW! BAM! The Superhero: The Golden Age of Comic Books.

The ZAP! POW! BAM! exhibit featured comic books and the history of the comic books from 1938-1950. They had the original costumes worn by the best, and most well known, superheros. Also had fun things for kids such as costume changing in a phone booth and a little area for the kids to try and draw their own comics. I am a HUGE fan of comic book art and pop art which made this exhibit heaven for me. Learning about all the artists and how they came up with the stories was amazing.

The Noah's Ark exhibit was really neat. I went with some of my little cousins because it is kinda meant for kids, but either way I thought it was really cool. I bet you all know the story of Noah's Ark, and this was basically a couple rooms with a bunch of animals made out of recycled materials and everyday objects. The animals were amazing made from everything from forks to gloves, to bottle caps. Also you could touch and play, climb and mess with all the little animals and toys the have around the rooms. I for one, had a blast.

Peragine

Rebecca Peragine does collages that are so simple but beautiful. She also alters everything from canvas and books, to furniture, and even report cards. Check out her Blog.

Sol

Amy Sol's paintings are filled with exotic animals and places all done with a unique color palette. She grew up in Korea which made a little influence on her work along with folk art, manga, and modern design. All the little characters are quite cute.

Binney

Kendra Binney's paintings are beautiful and very detailed. The dull blues, grays, and greens give off a kind of gloomy feeling along with the characters eyes which look sort of sad.

Flores

Sam Flores is known for his exotic characters and natural landscapes. He received popular recognition through clothing lines, skateboard designs, home decor pieces and a limited collection of vinyl toys. In 2007 he transformed Lab 101's Culver City gallery into a children's playroom of his imagination. With huge murals painted on the walls and custom toys and furniture.

Soule

Damon Soule's work can be seen on urban vinyl, skateboards, apparel, and the streets of SanFran.

Cooper

Alika Cooper is a painter who's art can been seen in galleries all around the Bay area.
