Architecture In Helsinki

I kind of liked the single That Beep by Architecture In Helsinki until I saw the video. I really enjoy all their other tracks, albums, and videos but I was just speechless after watching this for some reason. Maybe it was the blue people..I don't know! Directed by Krozm.

When I Grow Up

I posted about Fever Ray a while back, and i've been obsessed with their song 'When I Grow Up' since I came accross them. Finally, they've released a video for it! Directed by Martin de Thurrah it features a girl(Karin Dreijer Andersson) who's dancing and singing by a pool, and then her magical powers start to make the water in the pool go crazy! I love it.

Junior

Royksopp's new album Junior just released, and I must say, I am not really that impressed by it. Ive like their old stuff forever now, and this isn't any better or worse. Id hoped they would do something that would make me say 'wow.' It is decent though, I really enjoy a couple songs. I think Miss It So Much ft Lykke Li is my favorite, lykke li's voice always seems to make a perfect song! If you like dance-driven pop I suggest you take a listen.

RIP Page France

The indie-folk rock band out of Baltimore has called it quits. They're were rumors of the bands breakup all through 2008 and finally a blog post on their Myspace page confirmed it early this year.

"To speak officially [of the split] hadn't seemed necessary. We're all still much involved in making music. It will all just happen inside different names. Once an idea has run it's course, one must move along."

The band released 3 albums; in 2005 they released Come, I'm A Lion; in 2006 they released Hello, Dear Wind; and in 2007 their last, and not as impressive as the first two, Page France And The Family Telephone.
Lead vocalist Michael Nau contributes his time to the band Cotton Jones Basket Ride.
Page France's music is cheery and feel-good and always a good listen.

Noble Beast

Id have to say that Andrew Birds newest release Noble Beast is one of the best of the year so far. It is full of his signature whistles and catchy lyrics, as always. He is currently on tour so look to see if he is coming to your city.
In 2007 his album Armchair Apocrypha was widely hailed as one of the best albums of the year.

Passion Pit

My current obsession. Passion Pit.
"The Chunk of Change EP was originally put together as a (belated) Valentine’s Day present to Angelakos’ girlfriend which then prompted him to give it out to friends and fellow students at Emerson College. Angelakos wrote and recorded the entire record by himself and it only hints at what is to come from this extremely talented perfectionist. The production of the recording - brief, sporadic, and explosive - worked towards the development of Angelakos’ signature euphoric and blissfully melancholic sound"

First Aid Kit

The Swedish duo,First Aid Kit, are sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg. Who are both very young. I got their CD a while back and I loved it. Their cover of Fleet Foxes'-Tiger Mountain Peasant Song is really good. I had an obsession with fleet foxes for a while so this cover is nice to hear.

Diva

I love Beyonce for her sense of style and for this song. I never really like any of her other ones, this one kind of has a Santogold type feel to it. And I love it.

Stand Up To A Giant

I got the new Kings of Leon album Only By the Night on vinyl the other day and it is perhaps the best thing ever. I love getting vinyls because they sound so much better than a CD. This album isn't as good as their other ones(which is my opinion) but it is still good enough for me. I will forever and always love them just as much as I love my cats..which is a lot.

Colorful

This video features animated critters in real places. Its quite fun to watch. The music in it is from a band called Minilogue and all the animation is done by Ljubilden and Varelsen. It made me smile.
